► Stop Smoking

Last year, 1.5 million people in the UK attempted to quit smoking. Now that the smoking ban is in effect across the country, perhaps it is time that you too kicked the habit.

Whether you smoke occasionally or like a chimney, you should be aware of the health risks of smoking. Smoking endangers both your and other people's health; at worst, it can cause several diseases and illnesses which can lead to death.

The Students' Union Advice Centre can provide you with information about how to give up smoking, and you can also try the NHS Smoking Helpline on 0800 169 0 169. Why not visit http://gosmokefree.nhs.uk/ too if you want to find out more.

There are many ways to give up smoking, including exercise, gum and patches. Some people go for other methods, such as hypnotism or will-power alone. Whichever way you choose, we are here to help you along the way.
